Bal is the most important and most visited place in the area. Over a year ago, they decided to base their menu on breakfast and it was true hit! Their offer is just outstanding! They can boast the most interesting menu for a morning meal. Everyone will find something for themselves- you can eat eggs made how you like them, croissants – savoury or sweet, millets, baguette, toasts and famous bagels. You should also consider breakfast sets- a plate full of goodies that comes with really great coffee. It is a definitely portion for two! And it costs… 32 PLN! The menu has one more gem – Turkish menemen scrambled eggs. Try it yourself!

The most beautiful and the only breakfast bar in the city. This place was created to make you smile in the morning. Ranny Ptaszek is known for bowls of goodness and prime Shakshouka. It is served classically, which means generously covered with parsley or coriander, or with additional sausage, or even with feta cheese. Hot pita bread, bowls with hummus and silage – this is poetic food, because it moves you deeply. In the winter season, the Tajins were also cooked there (this Tajins we still have in our memory as something superb) ! It is also worth to look at the specials of the day (usually soup), or simply have a cup of good coffee while soaking up the sun in the shadow of an acacia tree.

Żonglerka is not a typical breakfast bar. It is more of a Community Centre for the area that is working from morning till evening. However, it does not bother to consider their breakfasts as one of the best in the city. Prepare yourself that you will not find a breakfast card on the spot. The owners will give you a set of what they have at hand. And they usually have the same magnificence – cheeses with Frontier Ranches, „bread from Zosia” (Zaczyn is one of the best bakeries in Krakow), baked vegetables, farm eggs. And butter!

In our opinion Zaczyn is one of the two best bakeries in Krakow. And although the breads sell out immediately, you can get breakfast there whenever they are open. For this important meal you can get in Zaczyn: vegan sandwiches! You can only imagine how incredible they taste so they end up in our top five! Bakers every day come up with two different flavors that can be ordered separately or combined. On warm, broiled bread you will often find hummus, nut curd, fruit, baked vegetables and natural dressings – molasses, syrups, tahina. For breakfast, you will drink overflow coffee from Karma.

This place is a little bit hidden, but very famous among informed tourists, but still not very often recognized by locals (well, unless we consider the groups wandering around Kazimierz for years). Cheder, it’s not just the headquarters of the FKŻ, but also a great cafe, which has long been proud of its high quality and interesting product. Vibe is also amazing there. The place is dim, silent ethnic music plays, and guests trying to fit into the atmosphere, speak in a low voice. It’s a wonderful place to relax especially because they serve fantastic breakfasts. A hummus set with egg and vegetables and a labneh is more then tempting! Food from cheder has a special place in our hearts.

Breakfast at Moment is a classic from a few years ago. We thought that the time of glory of this place was long gone and because of this fact we carefully avoided Moment for a long time. However, while searching for the best breakfasts in the city, we finally ended up at Estery street and we have discovered this place again. The breakfast menu is extensive and interesting. A big advantage of this restaurant is that during the “morning indecision” everyone can find something for themselves. From a substantial English breakfast to very FIT options. At breakfast time often almost every seat is taken there – this address still has a group of faithful fans!

Known from Smolensk street, Massolit serves its famous bagels also in the middle of Kazimierz district. Additionally, you can also order porridge (sweet and savoury), a plate with bread, some spreads and vegetables, or a super bowl based on millet with seasonal fruits. We usually take scrambled eggs served with a crunchy baguette. Scrambled eggs hit the table surrounded by a variety of bread spreads, such as: stuff as amazings as tomatoes with Za’atar, onion, stewed mushrooms and hummus. And of course, a specialty coffee. The price of the set: 20 PLN. It is a very fair breakfast!

A beautiful restaurant that can really surprise you in the morning. Despite the fact that we didn’t like their shakshouka (it’s already out of the menu), the pancakes taste like your grandma’s, and the breakfast sets are really remarkable. At night, we dream about the best millet we’ve ever eaten (we wonder if it’ll be back in the autumn menu?). The waiters are helpful and always smiling. There is no bustle in the room – this is one of the coolest places to be a freelancer and work outside of home. Also suitable for large groups.

Hummus Amamamusi is close to the top five. If we did top six, they would probably jump into it. Sitting at the counter and eating these breakfasts can really help you achieve bliss. As the only place where we were, they serve omelette with matzot – the legendary “matzot of Breia”. A great shakshouka and vegan set with tabbouleh is also one of breakfast’s classics. Sets full of tiny bowls and interesting accessories please the eye, and vegan cones with rose help all the pains the soul can have. Due to the size of the premises, we recommend it for a date rather than a group outing.

These breakfasts are unique! We have not met with similar anywhere in Poland. The idea of the sets was taken straight from Japan, where in fact miso soup with a bowl of rice is a way to dine in the morning. At Ka Udon they serve it with their own silage and first-rate tempura. A set of potato cake is a story about how American breakfast met Asian. Filter coffee in the set costs 6 PLN and is unlimited! It is worth a try!

Safe breakfast option! At the weekends you have to wait for a moment for your order so brace yourself with a little patience. The menu at Wesoła changes 4 times a year. When they tried to withdraw the bagel with turkey and double bacon there was a true riot. We like to order sets for two there. Eggs on avocado are also cool! And chia pudding with mango mousse. A lot of options for fit people: porridge, smoothie bowls, power bowls. For a cheat day: croissants and wonderful cakes.

We were wondering if “breakfasts for 1 PLN” can be good enough to include them to this list. A few visits in Międzymiastowa showed us that this is the only place with this option that deserves to be listed. The combinations of flavors are really cool, the breakfast burger is a winning dish and despite the price, they give great coffee. This option is very good even on the weekend when you pay normal price for breakfast, and the coffee costs 1 PLN. So it is not surprising there are queues to get in, especially on sunny days.

In the summer we come here for a light yogurt with fruit and date syrup, sometimes we add homemade granola. On cheat day we usually order the largest pancake in the city (part of our editorial office even claims that it is the best). Karma also serves excellent bread with egg, cheddar or avo. Theirs love for butter also shows on the sandwiches and we respect them for that! It is important to remember that Karma was one of the first spots in Krakow with specialty coffee!

If you do not know exactly what you want to eat in the morning- go to the Kolanko. We have a feeling that this is the most popular breakfast buffet in Krakow. You will not find premium products on it, but it is cheap and honest offer. You will find there bowls of salads, platters of cold meats, cheese and cottage cheese, roasted vegetables, yoghurts, fruits and cakes. The price includes drinks – coffee, tea and several cold options.
PRO TIP: in the middle of the place there is a patio, which is one of the most charming summer gardens in Kazimierz district.

Last but not least. Zenit is mandatory here, after all, it is a place that often saves lives in the morning. Especially when you are looking for a decent breakfast for a larger group of people in Kazimierz district. The interior is beautiful, “big city vibe”, and the selection of breakfasts is wide. The menu changes often, that’s why we don’t recommend something in particular. On the one hand Zenit is famous for huge, fat breakfasts, and on the other – for great healthy options.
